Europass Decision Passed

The Diploma Supplement is one of the five documents that have been included within Europass Decision 2241/2004/EC. The Europass Decision was passed on 15 December and comes into effect on 1 January 2005. Under the Europass decision, the Diploma Supplement should be issued electronically by higher education institutions to graduates along with their degree or diplomas in a form that is capable of being authenticated. The Diploma Supplement pre-exists Europass and is, under the Bologna Process, intended to be issued to graduates in all participating countries from 2005 onwards and free of charge. Unlike other documents within Europass, the Diploma Supplement is issued by the Higher Education Institution.
